NEWBIE ON THE BLOCK - BLOOMSBURY HOUSE

Back in November Louise Perry Weddings and Propose PR dropped me over an email inviting me to a brand new wedding venue launch for 2016!

A month ago, the date arrived and I found myself enjoying an Italian styled feast at Bloomsbury House! This traditionally English mansion house is situated in the heart of London; picture one of those grand houses from MR Selfridge and that’s what this magnificent wedding venue is.

The venue dates back to 1887, however after a long process of renovation and interior work, Bloomsbury House has renewed its former glory. Keeping its traditional features, mixed with modern materials and colours to fit the modern day bride. As I entered I was met with an elegant hall that lead into a swirling staircase with a single crystal chandelier dangling gracefully down the centre.

As I was guided up the stairs I was taken into a beautifully ornate room called the Virginia Woolf room that seats up to 80. This incredible room boasted two fireplace's on either side of the room decorated elegantly with candles.

As people were mingling and networking, we were all entertained by Boutique Booths that offer a large walk in photo booth and a variety of props to play with!

After enjoying a glass of bubbly, the group was escorted up to the Ascham room that can seat up to 100 guests. We were all treated to an in-house fine dining experience with an Italian style feast that a lucky winner got to carve out for the rest of the table while we enjoyed the soulful voice of Amy Langmead.

After a wonderful lunch, GC couture took over and treated us to a cup cake decorating class with their wonderfully talented team and showed us all how to make a delicious topping.

To finish of the day, we were back upstairs with a cup of tea and biscuits and viewing the new bridal collection by Andrea Hawkes; a Luxury British Bridal designer based in Clerkenwell, Islington, London who creates one off bespoke creations for your perfect day.
